My fascination with the intricate workings of the human body and a love for working with people initiated my journey into the field of medicine. However, it was my passion for nutrition, botanical medicine and an understanding of the body’s innate ability to heal that ultimately guided me to pursue a career in naturopathic medicine.
My academic journey began in 2004 at the University of Western Ontario where I double-majored in medical sciences and biology, graduating with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree. While working towards a future in medicine I realized that my ultimate goal was to find a career where my lifestyle and profession could be completely aligned.
While exploring options for the next step down my academic path, I started learning more about naturopathic medicine through my own healing journey as I worked to resolve digestive and hormonal imbalances I had battled with for years. Discovering naturopathic solutions to my own health issues would in fact prove to be the personal and professional alignment I had been looking for.
After my undergraduate studies, I travelled to Central America and experienced firsthand the benefits of raw, plant-based nutrition and the use of foods as medicine. I spent time at retreat centers and learned about various fasting and detoxification therapies, which not only restored my health, but transformed my view of medicine and my understanding of the human body. These positive experiences became the catalyst for the next steps in my professional development. In 2010, I moved to Vancouver, BC and decided to expand my knowledge in nutritional medicine, completing a diploma in Holistic Nutrition from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. In 2013, I enrolled at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in New Westminster, BC, where I embarked upon my journey of becoming a naturopathic physician.
I am currently living and practicing in Vancouver. During my spare time I love cooking healthy food, going for long walks with friends and my dog, relaxing at the beach, running the sea wall, snowboarding and hiking the beautiful North Shore mountains.
